Big Tourism of Truckee has tried to keep the legend of Mr. Pancake secret. Missing hikers in the 1980’s ignited dark theories of this creature’s human blood thirst, but there were some who defended the creature citing vegetarian evidence. Then in the late 80’s, Mr. Pancake disappeared. No footprints. Nothing. Was it Big Tourism for fear of lost revenue? Was it Jerry Steinbogger, the ‘Big Game Hunter’? Did Mr. Pancake move abroad?
